  About the Friends of Hampshire MusicSpace

The Friends of Hampshire MusicSpace was set up in 1998 to help sponsor the increasing demand for Hampshire's music therapy service. HMS Friends help to support ongoing therapy work and also enable Hampshire MusicSpace to respond to the increasing demand for music therapy from individuals and organisations who are unable to find initial resources to fund a music therapist.

We would be very pleased to hear from any individuals, music groups or other organisations who might be prepared to raise funds for Hampshire MusicSpace through donations from a concert or other event. Please contact Beccy Read to discuss any possibilities.

  By Joining the Friends of HMS you will help to:

support and extend present therapy work provided by Hampshire MusicSpace

subsidise new therapy work with individuals or groups who have learning difficulties and who need help with funding

enable Hampshire MusicSpace's team to introduce the potential benefits of music therapy to a larger number of organisations and individuals with special needs across Hampshire.

  What is involved in becoming a Friend?

It is very simple to join! Just complete a Friends' Membership form (available from the MusicSpace office, or electronically below) and send these details to our Friends Secretary hampshire@musicspace.org, along with your donation (which also acts as your Friends' subscription fee). We will then ensure you are added to our list of Friends and you will be sent the most recent Bulletin and other information on HMS.

  As an HMS Friend you will receive:

the 3 editions of our special Friends Bulletin each year, which will keep you uptodate with the work of MusicSpace and HMS events.

an invitation to our annual conference with the British Society of Music Therapy, and our annual HMS meeting where our therapists report on their present work

Music therapy work invariably demands on-going help to continue long-term. Initial sponsorship is often used to help valuable therapy work to begin while a longer-term source of funding is found. Please consider becoming a Friend of HMS to help support this work.
